Mancelona Elementary School experiences big changes after Mancelona Bond was passed on August 2, 2022.

According to the staff at the Mancelona High School, the last building changes were in 1999. In 2013, the school got new buses and new technology updates. These building changes have not been updated until the Mancelona Bond in 2022.The high school is looking forward to some new improvements, as well. “These carpets are about 25 years old!” stated Ms. Miller-Hamlin. Change is something all schools need, including getting new floors in all buildings. However, no big changes are being made to the inside of the high school and middle school.

We had many committed staff members working diligently throughout the summer to ensure classrooms were ready. Teamwork was key.” Melanie Griffore shared. Teachers were not stressed but worked fast throughout the summer for their students. Construction is currently still happening as the school year is continuing, so complete set-ups for the classrooms are not finished. The teachers still have ways to make their rooms fun for their students to learn in!

Daily activities at the Elementary school are changing day to day with the help of many construction staff and hard working teachers. Students are learning how to take care of their new classrooms and respect equipment that isn’t theirs.
